While attending school, Zach interned at a local firm and worked on a construction site on Western Kentucky's University's campus. He saw the importance of project planning and design, and how it affected the contractors onsite. Design was always his passion, but quickly developed a thorough understanding and importance of the construction phase of projects. Incorporating the two have become his specialty.
Zach began his career working at Gray Construction to continue learning the caveat's of the construction industry. Working onsite, he oversaw three projects to completion from the ground up: CAT manufacturing facility in Athens, GA, Meijer Distribution Center in Pleasant Prairie , WI, and Grainger Distribution Center in Bordentown, NJ.
Upon obtaining his Professional Engineering (PE) license, he moved to the design world and began working as a structural engineer. He landed at Lynch Mykins Structural Engineers in Norfolk, VA where he designed and sealed a variety of commercial, federal, and education/ municipal projects. He understands a variety of structures and the process for different project types. No matter your needs, this is a structural engineer that you want on your side!
Now a lecturer at Eastern Kentucky University, Zach is excited to pass his experience and knowledge down to a younger generation. Design is still his passion, which led him to start Miller Engineering Group. Zach and his team are ready to assist you in your project needs and want to bring our experience to work for you.
